Where learning happens through play

Summer may be a time-out from school, but at Thinkery camps, the learning continues and kids have a whole lot of fun doing it! 

The Thinkery Camp Experience 

• On the first day of camp, educators will lead campers through an exploration of what is most meaningful about that week’s theme to them. From there, that’s when the magic (and joy) happens. 
• Using these learnings, our trained camp educators will curate special design challenges, maker activities, and games. Giving children power in their learning journey makes the process more engaging, meaningful, and joyful, and cultivates confident, creative thinking. This is what makes Thinkery Camp so unique and FUN!  
• Every Friday afternoon, campers will put on a Show and Share for their caregivers to see the joyful learning that happened throughout the week. 

There are three main categories of activities that make up the camp experience and will be based on that week’s theme:  

Real Tools: Campers will get the chance to use some “big tools” like hammers, power drills, sewing machines, or print-making tools. Learning how to safely use these tools is not just fun but builds confidence, encourages responsible risk-taking and gives kids a chance to creatively express themselves.  

Hands-On Technology: Activities like creating code, exploring how circuits work, or building a robot have never been more playful. Our use of technology incorporates real-world implications. If kids are working to create something at Thinkery Camp, we’re going to make it do something fun!  

Messy Making: What’s more fun as a kid than getting your hands dirty? And what’s more fun as a caregiver than not having to clean up after? Messy making gives campers the opportunity to have that crucial sensory experience of using their hands to create and explore. It’s also a heck of a good time!
